To My Dentist:

I am a volunteer with "America’s Moms for Soldiers"- a Section 501(c)(3) organization founded in early 2009 by two Army Moms. Staffed by 80 volunteers - many of whom have relatives serving in our Armed Forces - our mission is:

"Never Let A Soldier Walk Away From Mail Call With Nothing."

Currently there are 47,000 Americans serving in the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines stationed in Iraq. There are 98,000 Americans stationed in Afghanistan. Based on our experience working with Military Commanders and Chaplains, we estimate 15-20% of them receive little or no mail.

Monthly we send 1100 care packages to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan who have been identified by Military Commanders and Chaplains as those receiving little or no mail from home. Typically a care package contains hygiene items, comfort items and food items in small sizes along with a letter and nondenominational prayer. Warm blankets and hot chocolate are sent for freezing cold days and refreshing, hydrating drink mixes when our Service Members operate in desert heat conditions.

This is a request for a donation of toothbrushes and small tubes/packets of toothpaste. Each and every one of the 1100 monthly care packages sent includes hygiene/comfort items. Our troops often experience terribly harsh conditions. When they are stationed at barren, makeshift outposts, they may go for weeks without having access to running water. This is unthinkable to those of us who daily experience comforts at home. So, you see how necessary toothbrushes and toothpaste are to them!

If you are able to help, you will have contributed much more than just toothbrushes and toothpaste. You will be a major partner in boosting the morale of these brave men and women by letting them know they are remembered. On behalf of all of our volunteers, contributors, and, most importantly, our deserving young men and women serving in the Middle East, I urge you to assist us. The heart-warming communications and expressions of gratitude we receive from the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines motivate and energize us to continue our mission.

With hope for your partnership,
